conventions
To begin with, all four of these music video's have some of the same conventions. The conventions that are clear to the audience within all of the music video's are, cutting, shot type, setting, location and costume. This shows that music video's a lot of the same conventions are usually video's for the same genre of music.
Secondly, the first convention of cutting is apparent throughout all four of these music video's as the audience can clearly see the cutting shots where one second the shot is of the location and the next moment the shot is of somebodies face. This convention helps link all of these music video's together because it helps all of the video's to convey emotion this is done by the cutting because after the shot of panning across the location of the music video it is then quickly cut to a shot of someones face with a certain expression on there faces. For example the way to convey the most emotion through facial expression is to show the emotion of sadness, which is also in all four of these music video's.
The next convention that links all of these music video's is shot type. The way in which this is conveyed is through the shot types of long shots of the location and close up shots of the artist or a prop of importance. The convention of location lenks all of these music video's together because it help display that all of these music video's have the same mood. The way in which this convention of a music video helps to do that is through the weather of the location, for example if the location is the same different moods can be set due to the difference in weather. e.g. sun down displays a down and depressing emotion.
The next music video convention that links all of these music video's together is costume. This helps ink all of these music video's together because it helps display the emotion of the artist or actor within the video. For example these music video's link through costume because the features actors or artists are wearing the same types of clothing, e.g. dull colours mainly gey's and blacks.
Lastley the music video convention that links all of these video's together is setting, this conventions help link all of these music video's together because they may have some similarities in props that help create an atmosphere for ythe music video that usually represents the music genre.

I
think the name of the Radio channel, ‘MIXX’, represents a mixture of Jungle
music and House music, this would be combined to create the genre of music the
Radio channel would broadcast. I chose
to mix these two genre’s of music because when separated they are the music
genre’s of my two other Radio channels, I did this because I thought this would
give the Radio channel a bit more edge. This is the music that you would hear
at a ‘Rave’ party environment. I envision this type of music to be this mixture
of music genres because I think of mixing when creating the Radio channel logo.
This made me naturally go with the direction of mixing the two genres of, music
from my other two Radio channel logos. Secondly the harsh edges within the
name, for example the straight lines make the logo look very youthful and edgy,
and I think this suits my genre that I have chosen. This music is aimed at
those aged 18 and over, which are those who are appropriately aged to go out to
‘Rave’s’ and enjoy themselves with that music.
The
target audience for this Radio channel of music is aimed at those who are aged
18 – 30 years old, for both males and females, who enjoy going to ‘Rave’s’.
They like the music that they can escape to and create a false persona of
themselves to get away from their ordinary lives.
I
wanted my logo to make the target audience that my music channel is aimed at to
make them ponder over their memorise of their time out at ‘Rave’s’ with theirs
friends. I wanted to use bright colours and things that would grab people’s
attention like the lightning bolts, for example the lightning bolts grab
people’s attention because when ever it is thunder and lightning people know
about, hence grabbing their attentions. I also used the bright colours of
electric blue, vivid orange and a lively red. By using all of these colour is
would not only grab my target audiences attention but also attract to both
females and males. I wanted my logo to make those who have been working hard
all week at work to appear lively and upbeat and ready for a good time which at
the end of the week my target audience want.
I
think the competitors for the radio station would be ‘Capital XTRA’,
‘Rave-Radio’ and ‘Rave dance’, which all broadcast 7 days a week. This is
mainly because they all play similar music, which would be extreme dance music.
Also all of the radio stations have a similar age range for there target
audience. My radio station will be different because it will cater for both
genders.
I
wanted to create a fashionable, trendy yet juvenile look to my logo, which only
plays he latest and greatest Rave dance music. This way it would appeal to my
target audience with the ages of 22 – 30 year olds who enjoy who enjoy going to
raves and having a good time listening to these great rave anthems. I wanted my
radio station logo to appeal to both females and males as I can imagine both
males and females at raves and dancing together and having a good time. Imagine both females and males travelling up
to the rave together and dancing to all of the rave dance songs together. Also they would all be dancing and singing
along with the music playing on the radio station ‘MIXX’.
I
started by finding an appropriate font for my text on my logo, I chose the
font, “Myriad Pro”, which I thought was a suitable font because it is grown up
and would appeal tot the adults that are aged within my target audience.
I
created the appearance of the logo by saving an image of a boom box I found on
the Internet which I then used for my logo by saving and using on Photoshop.
This chosen image was then enlarged by pressing and holding down the keys of,
‘CMD and ‘T’ then, ‘Sift’ this is so the image remains clear and appears
professional. Next I added a the
lightning type bolts coming out of the speakers of the boom box and then added
the appropriate colours to them.
